A little bit about Grace

I'm just a nursing student who enjoys taking pictures as a hobby. It all started when I was about 11 years old, when I received my first 35mm film camera.  Man, I was so excited!  A few years later, digital cameras became widely available, and at 13 years old, a point-and-shoot 3.2 megapixel camera with liveview and 3x optical zoom was an amazing thing.  Fast forward several years later, my parents gifted me with a Pentax K-R with 2 kit lenses, thus bringing me into the wonderful world of dSLRs!

Unfortunately, college and other interests keep me really busy, so I don't get to practice as much as I would like.  I'm still a "camera owner" but I hope to eventually progress to a "photographer" [which may take a long time--be patient!] There's so much to learn when it comes to dSLRs, so I'm super excited!  Hopefully you'll see growth as I continue taking photos! For now, though, baby steps :)

Why "charis photography?"  Charis (χάρις) means "grace" in Greek.  My parents got the name from Ephesians 2 verse 8 "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God."  You can read the entire chapter here.
